Papaya Academy School
History
Kalinga at Pag-ibig Foundation is a registered Philippine charity. The foundation was
established September 2002, by Miss Janneke Heinen and Craig Burrows. The main
source of financial support comes from the “Stichting Kalinga”,the Netherlands.
Rationale
As a a declaration of policy, the Philippine State sees the child as a very “important
asset” such that “every effort should exerted to promote his/her welfare and enhance
his/her opportunities for a useful and happy life.” Education is an integral part of this
and to support the Philippines, the board of Kalinga at Pag-ibig decided to put up a
non-fee charging Elementary School.
Mission
Papaya’s mission is to create a student-focused academic and educational environment, which
aspires to achieve excellence. It promotes positive beliefs and values. It acknowledges and
appreciates the diversity of different religious and humanitarian beliefs. Its goal is to prepare
students to succeed in further educational studies and into the world of work and to help them
develop into mature adults with sense of purpose and belonging.
Main Goal and Objective of Papaya Academy
Papaya Academy is a privately owned school founded upon Humanitarian and Christian
beliefs and values. It is dedicated to providing access to a quality education for the
impoverished children in the local community and suburbs, believing that all children have
this right.
Specific Goals and Objectives
Papaya Academy is a privately owned charity school that aims to provide a quality education
for the impoverished children in the local community and suburbs of Montalban. It aims to
develop the whole child - spiritual, moral, emotional, intellectual, social and physical aspects
of life through varied experiences and teaching methods. The specific goals and objectives
are:
i. Each member of the school community should be valued as a uniquely created
individual
ii. Effective learning is achieved through stimulating student curiosity, creativity and
enthusiasm through holistic education.
